Kia ora, I'm Laura Trethewey (she/her).
​​With 15+ years’ experience in senior Human Resources and Health & Safety roles, I’ve led people and safety functions in complex, high-risk environments. I led my own HR Consulting business for 5 years, and have delivered results for organisations across a range of industries in the people and culture space.
​
Today I operate as an independent contractor on a part time basis, supporting organisations with a range of People & Culture related projects. While I'm a well-rounded generalist, I am particularly passionate about employment relations, leadership, training & development, and strategic HR.
As an Employment Advocate, and founder of Spectrum Work Aotearoa, I've also supported individuals with work-related challenges.
My blend of experience, enables me to identify risks and find practical, creative solutions to employment-related challenges.

I enjoy challenging people to think broadly, and to learn continuously. I thrive on bringing people together to solve complex workplace challenges and implement solutions that work and stick.

Outside of work, I’m usually found dancing - teaching, travelling, or contributing to NZ’s dance community. I’m also a cat-lover and enjoy the occasional skate or ski trip with friends.
